I have been counseling in various forms and locations for over thirty years, first,
as a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor; later as a
Program Therapist in a hospital-based Day Treatment Program, working with
Severely and Persistently Mentally Ill adults. After I left the hospital, I began
my private practice, “Hope and Help Counseling.”
In addition to the kind of counseling many people picture, I now provide the Getting unSTUCK Method, coaching for difficult emotions as a certified STUCK
I also provide treatment for Problem Gambling, through the New York Problem Gambling Resource Center
I seek to provide the care that I would want for myself. Emotions that can be overwhelming, and relationships are valuable, but often difficult. I aim to give you the time you need to build a fulfilling life.
When I’m not working, I enjoy time with my family, playing music and handball, photography and kayaking.
What I’d like most for you to know about me is I will listen. I firmly believe that life can be better, and together we can find the way for you to find fulfilling ways to live yours. That is where the name for my practice comes from: There is Hope; I will Help.
